Could this be the best combination in the world? Yes, it really is!
Glastonbury Festival has announced that it will be showing an England World Cup game live on the Pyramid stage screens. The match versus Slovenia will be broadcast on Wednesday June 23rd, surely delighting football fans across the country.
Despite this, organiser Emily Eavis has refused to confirm whether England’s following game, should they progress from the group, will also be broadcast.
The legendary festival will be celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary this June, with universal bores U2 already confirmed to headline the event.

British rock trio Muse are rumoured to fill one of the two remaining headline slots at next year’s Glastonbury festival. With one place already given to U2 organisers are no doubt trying to make amends, and the Devonshire lads are one of the favourites.
Having previously headlined in 2004 their name will no doubt please many festival goers, with other options including ancient rockers The Rolling Stones. The line up is sure to be special whatever the outcome, with the festival celebrating it’s 4oth Anniversary and the June event

The tickets have already sold out for the 40th Anniversary of Glastonbury Festival, and no sooner have the organisers finished counting the millions they’ve made they thrust this on us: U2 will headline next years festival. Now I had every intention of going, but unfortunately missed out on tickets. Thank god. Despite their rather overblown success U2. to me, are one of the most over rater bands of all time, and certainly not a good choice for a celebration of all that is Glastonbury!
Taking place in June next year, it will be the Irish acts first appearance at the festival over their 36 year careers. Of course they are delighted, no doubt part of Bono’s ever increasing plan to take over the world. Acts rumoured to be accompanying them include Muse, Coldplay and Sir David Bowie, so it can only get better really.
But then again, The Rolling Stones have been rumoured as well, so it could get worse as well…
